sketchbook play

I wanted to try and get a feel for the time period it was set, the way people looked and acted. So started drawing from images of Jack Kerouac and his friends - who most of the characters in the book are based on

Although I don't think I will be using this loose, fluid line work in my finals, I have enjoyed playing and trying to get my head around drawing people. Because I feel the photos I am working from have such character in their face, I want to be able to depict it with the same amount of emotion.
