development

I felt the scene was really missing something, and I wanted to add some bits that weren't just photocopies.

I saw a piece that noel fielding from the mighty boosh had done, I don't usually like his work, but he does a lot of surreal pieces and I liked the dense paint work in this one.


Earlier I had been trying to include quite scatchy, loose pen work with the collage but the two styles really didn't go, but I think using quite thick, messy brushstrokes might be more promising.









I chose areas of the scene to try out in paint work.
Enjoyed doing the thick, heavy brushstrokes, already it looks quite soft and dreamy. 















I played around with the paint to see how the scene would look if it was mostly painted





I actually quite liked it with the mountains as paint, it looks like mountains of ice cream. But I feel it takes too much attention from the rest of it and I did really like the detail in the mountains.
I felt the paint work looked best when it was more subtle, like only being used in the grass and the floor:
