cargo

I have finally got around to making my website, I looked at both Squarespace and Cargo Collective - they are both pretty similar aesthetically so I went with Cargo as it was slightly cheaper.

This is it so far, I still need to make a proper header with my name written out and maybe a letter head/logo. I also still need to add my russian project but I want to photograph it properly first. I'm finding the site a bit confusing - I can't get the thumbnails to get any bigger and still be the same size which is annoying as it is all a bit small at the moment.
I separated my work into four sections - books, music, food and personal.
I've also bought a domain name - astridweguelin.com - and linked it to my website. I got it from NameCheap as it was the cheapest out of the other options.

progress update

I haven't managed to spend much time on PPP recently because of CoP, it took up a lot more of my time than I had planned so this module got pushed to the side a bit.
The session today helped me have a clearer idea of what I need to do over the next few weeks. My plan of action is to:
- make a website on either square space or cargo
- get a list of people I want to contact; agents, practitioners, publishers
- get a list of questions I can email them, and then email them
- start putting together information for my CV, formal and creative
- start thinking about my promo pack, what products to put in and their design

ppp session

What I have done for PPP so far:
- I have picked out 10 pieces of my work so far which shows the different categories and breadth within my practice
- I have planned out the work to go on my website
- I have thought about people I want to contact
- I have made a separate, more professional and finished blog for my work

What I intend to do by 17th June:
- have made a professional website
- have made contact with agents, practitioners and publishers
- have a good promo pack
- have lots of strong portfolio pieces
- have a plan of action for leaving uni
- have a good CV
- have a domain name
- looked into internships

What I intend to have done by the first year of leaving:
- have a part-time job
- be doing a ceramics course
- have managed to do an internship somewhere relevant
- to still be entering competitions, making work regularly and keeping up my practice
- have an updated portfolio

What I intend to have done 5 years from leaving:
- have a steady job in the creative industry
- my own flat
- have a studio space, preferably shared with other creatives
